Governance


START myResearch is financially sponsored by the Vice Chancellors of Research in collaboration with the Office of the Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) and will be governed by the following committees:

Executive Oversight Committee will provide executive oversight and decision-making and will consist of the
Chicago and Urbana-Champaign Vice Chancellors of Research and the AITS Senior Associate Vice President. The committee will meet bi-weekly and will be supported and administered by staff from the Project Leadership Committee. The Executive Oversight Committee shall annually review the progress of START myResearch project in consultation with the Project Leadership Committee. Progress shall be defined as successful implementation of new or improved research support services for administration of research for both researchers and the administrative staff who support them.

Project Leadership Committee will manage the functional and technical teams and will consist of senior campus representatives and AITS project managers. The committee shall meet weekly. The committee members are:

Project Steering Committee will be composed of research faculty, support staff, research and business administration leaders, and others as needed to provide functional and technical advice and recommendations. The stakeholder and advisory group will meet monthly.

START myResearch project team will work in close collaboration with the above governing committees and designated operational staff of the various campus units in supporting this project. Prior to completion of the Conflict of Interest implementation, the project team shall assess the functional and technical merits to determine the best software for integrating proposal and budget development.
